Well you raise your children and the big day comes and it's their wedding day.

get married what were those days like for you?

Yeah one of my favorite memories of that day of performing the ceremony of my oldest daughter is when

Erin and our youngest daughter, she's probably 10,

and in the midst of the ceremony, I'm asking for the rings

and she's frantically, little Annie's frantically waving at me

to get my attention. In my mind I'm like, okay, is a bride's made?

What are you doing? Like, why are you trying to get my attention? Can this wait?

You know, are you going to object? I don't know what's going on. And so she I look at her and

give her kind of it looked like yes what how can I help you and she mouths the words

I'm bored. bored as I'm doing the ceremony so I'll never forget that.

I'll tell you John for me what looking back I'm glad that someone gave me this advice and they said

that day of the wedding is so hectic and it's going to be emotional so take some time before that and really

have a special moment just between you and your kids so for me it's been you know

my two oldest daughters and and so I've told my kids that right before your wedding I get one last little overnight.

I'm so glad that I did that.

We went hiking up into the mountain, so whatever that might look like so that I could close one chapter.

Me is their dad with them at home, not married.

And so we talked about, you know, how do we kind of say goodbye well to that season

because it's going to be different.
