Summary

This was a little bit of an emotional process for me in getting this episode into your hands! Today we will come around the very last chapter in my new book The Life You Long For: Learning to Live from a Heart of Rest. The chapter we’ll look at is “Always Remember to Never Forget.” Whether you’ve heard my song titled this or read this chapter, I think today’s episode on this still stands alone! I think there’s no better time to remember together what I call “The Seven Wonders of the Beloved” in this chapter, which are the who, whose, when, where, how, what and why of our lives.

These are prodding answers in the form of questions that help us remember who and whose we are so that we can stand faithfully in our “when”—knowing full-well “where” we are in Christ—so that we can be about the how, what and why or our day and our lives! I’ll be signing off for the summer with this episode. I hope it finds you holding fast to JESUS in these days. Much love and I’ll talk to you soon!

Hey all you beautiful people and welcome to the glorious in the mundane podcast I'm

0:26.5

your host Kristi Knuckles. Happy June to you and that means happy summer. It is upon us. It has

0:35.2

taken me a little bit to get this last episode in the works and that is just because our family

0:39.9

is living in a little bit of a concentrated season. I told my patrons this in a little check-in that

0:46.8

I did with them several days ago but it just feels a bit like something I described to a friend

0:52.4

a few years ago about a season she had found herself in that it feels a little bit like a can

0:58.7

of condensed orange juice or concentrated orange juice. If you consume it by itself it's awfully

1:07.4

sour and pungent but if you simply add water it changes everything. Not to be cheesy but it's just

1:16.4

a season that we are finding that we need to douse everything with the living water especially the

1:24.1

water that is the word of God and in doing so it causes even what's bitter to be sweet somehow.

1:31.9

I won't tell you all the things I'm making little quotation marks with my fingers as I say all

1:37.5

the things but our precious middle child as many of you know Eliana just graduated from high school

1:44.6

and that means that we are about to have two of our little birdies who are not so little anymore

1:51.6

not living in the nest at least for long periods of time. We did make much of marking the season

1:58.5

for our sweet Ellie. We had a lovely party here at our home and by a lovely party here at our home

2:05.2

I mean that we cleared out our basement mostly Nathan did but we cleared out our basement and we hung

2:12.4

up a disco ball. It was epic. We put most of the furniture that resides in our basement

2:20.3

out onto the back deck and we brought out lamps and candles and flowers and rugs and it was

2:27.4

absolutely magical. It actually felt like heaven on earth. We gathered with friends and family

2:34.8

and my parents were even able to be there. It was such a precious night and the next day

2:41.5

I wasn't quick to take any of the decorations down. We sort of just had the stay of rest and

2:47.1

remembering what a sweet night we had and I just couldn't bring myself to take any of the sweet
