We're into day three of the government shutdown, with no signs of the deadlock breaking.

A Senate vote is scheduled for later today, but the Democrats are expected to vote against the GOP-backed bill,

and no votes are currently scheduled

over the weekend.

There is news out of the White House, though, as the federal government has just frozen

$2.1 billion in infrastructure funding to Chicago.

It's another freeze on federal funds to a Democrat-run city, after $18 billion in federal

funding for infrastructure projects was

held from New York.

The man in charge of the funds, Russell Vote, who's the director of the Office of Management

and Budget, said on X, the decision is to, quote, ensure funding is not flowing via

race-based contracting.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump posted an AI video of vote,

depicting him as the Grim Reaper, as federal workers are bracing for the announcement

of what could be thousands of layoffs as soon as today.

So, Sean Diddy Combs' sentencing began this morning, but could potentially go into Monday, according to court

sources.

Prosecutors and defense lawyers have hours-long presentations prepared for the hearing,

with the judge ultimately deciding how much time he'll give to each side.
