One more indictment and I'll be elected president. That was some pretty good sarcasm.

Oh my God, I don't think he's taking this seriously.

A planet of playthings, we dance on the strings of powers we cannot perceive.

That's a line from a great song written by Neil Peart of Rush. It's about free will or the lack thereof.

What a terrifying world that would be if we were manipulated and pushed around by evil spirits and that sort of thing.

We're not, especially in this country. It's a wonderful thing. We design policies that govern what our civilization looks like.

And some are very good and lead to decades of safety and prosperity and happiness, the pursuit of happiness.

Some of them are terrible and stupid and doomed to failure and they fail.

And they lead to danger and poverty and misery.

Which brings us to beautiful Portland, Oregon.

As we've made clear many times, one of our favorite cities on earth, both of us,

spent a great deal of time in that formerly wonderful place.

Full of arts and food and scenery and kind of endearing whackiness.

But now it's a drug-addled hellscape.

So many texted and soon I call it Portland, call it snortland.

That's pretty good.

But probably not good enough.

There's snorting all these drugs.
