I am Karen Hunter, and this is Dr. Week.

I have been really leaning into featuring interviews with professional physicians,

particularly those who deal with women, particularly those

who deal with black women. And because it's Friday, I said, let me switch it up a little bit.

We're still going to be interviewing a doctor, but he's a TV doctor. Okay. He plays Owen Hunt on one of

my favorite shows, Grace Anatomy, and it's one of my favorite shows primarily because of Debbie Allen

and all of the Shonda Rhymes and all of the people who are acting it

as one of the most diverse TV shows on network television,

and it has been 21 seasons and counting,

but this is the last season for Owen Hunt.

So when I had an opportunity to talk with him, I was like, yes. And what I didn't

know, but I knew, knew it in my spirit is that that man is aligned. Okay. He talked about Debbie Allen

and Shonda rhymes the way they should be talked about. And I didn't even know how impactful Debbie

Allen was to making sure that this man stayed on this show

because it was dicey in the beginning.

But she came in and was like, I see something special in you.

So our conversation was better than I expected.

He was everything that I didn't know that I needed.
