Terry reached his limit right before dessert was about to be served.

We were at Thanksgiving dinner, and at Terry's request, we tried to keep the conversation away from the calamity that has been visited upon

our democracy in the form of Donald J. Trump's win in the electoral college loss of the popular

vote by now more than 2.5 million votes by nearly 2%. And we did. We tried to stay away from

the topic, but somewhere between the end of the meal and before dessert arrived, we all got on to Trump and Bannon and Stein and Clinton and recounts and Russia and people were getting into it.

Everyone was in violent agreement. We were all liberals and lefties there. We weren't on a mission to bring any idiotic relatives around because there were no idiotic relatives in the room. Everybody in the room, relatives included, were sane and equally appalled by what's going to happen on January 20th. And Terry announced that he couldn't take it anymore, rose from the table,

and went to the kitchen and told us that he would be back when we changed the subject. And we did

change the subject. And as he walked back into the room and sat down, he realized we were having

a spirited conversation about rape culture and he stood back up and left again because he didn't

want to be there for that one either. So in deference to Terry, we quickly changed the subject to Insecure.

A terrific new show on HBO just finished its first season, been renewed for a second season, written and executive produced by Issa Ray, who is a fucking talent.
