You might have seen the op-ed in the Washington Post last week by Gail Dines.

It got forwarded a lot.

It got Facebooked a lot.

Your anti-sex relatives or your pornphobic friends may have passed it along to you.

Dines' op-ed was titled, Is Porn Immoral? That Doesn't Matter. It's a public health crisis. Dines goes on

through the piece to argue that porn destroys love. It threatens families. It causes erectile dysfunction.

It makes men, or it makes more men, I guess I should say, into sexists and

rapists. Basically, any bad thing that people do, from not washing their hands after using

the bathroom to texting during movies, we can, says Dynes, blame it on porn. Interestingly,

in the next breath in the very same piece where she says that porn does all these terrible,

rotten, awful things, destroys family, destroys love, causes E.D. Dines points out or mentions or argues,

and maybe the only real fact in her whole piece, that rates of porn use are staggeringly high.

Porn sites get more visitors each month than Netflix, Amazon, and Twitter combined dines rights, which is true.

There's a lot of people out there consuming a whole lot of porn.

And porn consumption rates have basically been through the roof since the internet came along.

And the internet, as we all know, because we've all seen or listened to Avenue Q by now, the internet is for porn.

So people basically should have stopped getting married by now, and rates of sexual

violence should be way, way up.
