As all of you know, I'm on vacation the last couple of weeks.

I am in Austria with my husband doing Austrian things.

And usually this is the part of the show, the top of the show, where I blow my stack.

I rant a little bit about typically current events. But, you know, I've been on

vacation. So this is recorded in advance. And I can't rant about current events because I don't know

what they are because I am drunk in a beer garden somewhere right now. But we do have a rant for you

to start the show. We have a rant about rants. We have a caller with a question about my rants,

and we have a guest on to rant in my stead. Here we go.

Hey, Dan. I am a 30-year-old married woman from California, and I have kind of an odd question,

and I preface it with odd because it is not a sex and relationship

question. It is a political one. One of my favorite parts of your show is the beginning, where you

kind of, you know, do a little recap of what's going on in the news and politically, and normally

it's the part that I laugh my ass off because your commentary is so great.

But I always find myself a little conflicted because while I am, I consider myself a liberal.

I'm pro-choice. I'm pro-gay rights, gay marriage. I am progressive.

There are certain things that I don't like about the Democratic Party. The biggest part of that is my husband is a Marine. He's been in almost 20 years. And it seems every time a Democrat

gets into office, our benefits start getting cut. Our pay starts getting cut. We don't get raises.

And, you know, maybe this isn't necessarily true, but it seems like since Obama has taken office, they have talked more and more about

cutting the current pay that we received. So not just not giving the guys raises, but actually
