I've been away for three weeks.

I was on this thing that we call a vacation.

A lot of American workers don't have those anymore, and I recognize that I'm lucky to have them,

particularly three-week long ones, and I'm very grateful for them.

But when I go on vacation, we still like

the new podcast to come out every week. So we bank some shows and I record shows in advance. So I haven't

been able to talk about current events at the top of any of the last three weeks of shows because

the shows weren't current because we recorded them in advance, as I said. So I wasn't able to talk

about Russia and all the horrible things going on in Russia,

the persecution of the LGBT community there.

We talked about it before once or twice on the podcast,

but everything's going to come to a head right before I left for vacation.

Harvey Firestein wrote this brilliant op-ed in the New York Times calling out Putin and the Russian government

and demanding that the world start

to pay attention.

Activists in Queer Nation in New York and San Francisco and me and another guy here in Seattle

all called for a boycott of Russian vodka.
