Quickly before we get to your calls, a little rant about my friend Mike Huckabby.

Mike Huckabee and I have been on TV together.

We've shaken hands.

I've met him at the Republican National Convention.

He remembered me from Real Time with Bill Maher.

He's very polite in person. He is a social conservative and he is against gay marriage, but he's also against gay people adopting children. And he said this week that he supported Arkansas's new law that prohibits same-sex couples from becoming adoptive or foster parents. Here's the quote. I think this is not about trying to create statements for people who want to change the basic fundamental definitions of family,

Huckabee said, and always we should act in the best interest of the children, not in the seeming interest of the adults.

Because he added, children are not puppies, which is why gay people shouldn't be

allowed to adopt them now where do all those children who need to be adopted come from

exactly and where do the hundreds of thousands of children currently languishing in foster

care in Arkansas and other states the the United States, come from.

These children are not waiting for homes because gays and lesbians failed to use birth control

or neglected, abused, or abandoned these children so badly that the state had to step in

and place them in foster care.
