We'll start with a story about foster care for Native American children in Washington State.

They're far more likely to be taken from their parents and placed in foster care than any other kids.

And that rate has remained stubbornly high despite policy efforts to keep more families

together. Some advocates say for most families, the best solution is for the state never to get

involved, that cases with Native American kids should be managed by their tribes. Ilyish O'Neill

has this story about what's needed to make that work.
