It's Monday. This is Seattle now. McNeil Island,

beautiful yet mired in a long criminal justice history, is emerging in the news again. It's where

Washington runs its rehabilitation for people convicted of the most serious sex crimes. But there's not been consistent watch on how the places run

and whether the folks in rehab are getting what they need.

Rebecca Moss of the Seattle Times has been investigating

and is here to share the latest on McNeil Island.

Seattle voters are narrowing down their choices for mayor, city council, county executive, and a number of other races. Also on the ballot, whether to renew a parks levy and the city's democracy voucher program.

You have until 8 p.m. tomorrow night, postmark your ballot or return it to a drop box.

Heads up if you're doing some summer cleaning and thinking about a run to the dump.

Seattle's South Transfer Station is closed for the entire month of August for repairs.

City officials are replacing 35,000 square feet of the station floor.

Seattle's North Transfer Station is still open.
