Sarah Jaffe is a Texan like me.

I've been aware of her since she started doing gigs in Denton

and have been a giant fan of her music,

lo, these many years.

I guess we're talking about a decade and a half now.

I remember the first time seeing her play standing on the side of the stage with my jaw on the floor.

I just couldn't believe it's not just her voice, but there's just something very magnetic, very moving about her writing, her performance.

She's kind of magical, and I think that comes through in this interview that you're about to hear.

It is true that when she's offstage, she's also hilarious and relaxed and foul-mouthed

and all the things you want out of a rock-and-roll friend, you know.

That said, there are going to be some F-bombs in this in case you're driving with kids or whatever.

You should know that's coming.

very cool stuff in it. I would maybe recommend with one of her better known songs is a song that

I'm obsessed with and think is one of the greatest songs ever written. I was lucky enough to sing it with her at my annual cystic fibrosis benefit back in October.
