So first off, let me share a little bit about Beauty Counter as a company. And then I'll

share why I got involved. And then how I'd like you to play with the products tonight.

Well, Beauty Counter is a startup company that started three years, a little bit over three years

ago by our founder and CEO, Greg Grenfro, who came from working with Nordstroms and J.Crew

and a lot of really high-level companies and came out and left those because she wanted to do

something that was really going to be a movement that made a difference. As a mom, as someone

conscious and mindful of her health,

she was learning about things that not of us were aware of.

And the reality is that a lot of things go on behind the scenes

here in the United States and Canada that a lot of consumers don't know about.

We see a product on a shelf and we assume that there's some sort of regulation that would make sure that that product would not only just

be safe but absolutely, but actually not harmful to us. And the reality is that that's not true.

And what we found is that there's not been a major law past regulating the cosmetic or

personal care industry since 1938. There is a total of 1.5 pages of

legislation that regulate the $200 billion a year industry that is cosmetics. So as far as

regulations, it's kind of the wild, wild west of products. And you can see

a lot of products are trying to go, you know, labeling with natural and organic and all, you know,

all natural or whatever it might be. But that's this term we call green washing because there's
