Today's episode is going to be a little bit different because I was asked to do something

a little bit different.

A few weeks ago, I had an incredible offer from a magazine called 54 Magazine.

54 is a relatively new magazine, but it's considered

the mecca of African culture. The pages of 54 mag share with the world the art, culture,

talent, and luxury that exist throughout the African diaspora. And why is it called 54? Because

there are 54 countries in Africa. So their editor-in-chief and Sabrina Elba actually both

approached me to write the cover story for their new issue. They wanted me to basically shadow

Sabrina Elba and do a deep dive on the work that she's doing with her skincare lab, Sable Labs,

but just a profile on her in general. Now, as someone that grew up on magazines and loved reading

magazines and magazine interviews, I was like, I can do this. That was my first thought. I

can do this. But then I realized I've never written a cover story for a magazine before.

But I had interviewed Sabrina. And as you all know, I've been interviewing people for eight

years on this podcast I was also

an english major so I was like I know how to write you know that Stanford literature degree is

still somewhere back there in my brain so I took on the challenge I boarded a flight to

London I shadowed Sabrina elba who you all know has been a guest on this show. I shadowed her

for a full day, a jam-packed day, and then I wrote the story. So today on the podcast, I'm going to

read to you the story of my time in London with Sabrina and everything I learned about her quest

to dominate A beauty. The thing I really wanted to focus on in this article
