Jonathan Shanzer of the FD informs that the IDF continues its offensive in Lebanon, Beaufort Castle and beyond.

The Hezbollah is re-arming and rearmed and using drones, FPV drones that cannot be jammed against the Israelis.

And as Jonathan tells us, the IDF is taking

casualties. This is not a straightforward situation as it was in 2000 when the Israelis withdrew

from the same area. Jonathan points out that it was a mistake then. It would be a mistake now to give up this part of Lebanon.

The Hezbollah is not to be trusted.

Lebanon government is not effective.

And the U.S. insistence that Israel stopped the offensive in Lebanon is unrealistic.

Beaufort Castle, you may recall,

was under Israeli control until the withdrawal of 2000. I think we can now say with certainty that

the withdrawal from the year 2000 was a mistake, that withdrawing from territory without guarantees

of future peace or guaranteed victory, in other words, having already banquished one's

enemy, you've got to have that in your hand. You have to bank it before you leave. The Israelis left

with the idea that perhaps peace would come afterwards that maybe Lebanon would want to be left

alone. But as we all know, Hezbollah had a vote. And Hezbo has,

as you rightly noted, since October 8th, they have been waging war against Israel. It has actually

been quite brutal, John. I mean, when you look at the war of attrition that erupted for the first

year or so after the war began, we saw the evacuation of roughly a quarter of a million
