Summary

We return to racing in the latest episode of The Cycling Podcast Féminin with reaction to and analysis of Strade Bianche, the first Women's World Tour race of the resumed season.

We held back the July episode so Orla Chennaoui, Rose Manley and Richard Moore could discuss the race, which was won by the world champion Annemiek van Vleuten but was also notable for the performances of the other two riders on the podium, Mavi Garcia and Leah Thomas.

We hear from Spanish journalist Yolanda Álvarez, who tells us about Garcia's late start in road racing and the giant strides she has taken. There's an interview with Thomas, whose gutsy ride owed something to the support of her team's new sponsor, Paule Ka. And Ellen van Dijk tells us about some of the COVID-19 protocols around the Spanish races that saw the women's peloton back in action in the week before Strade Bianche.

The Cycling Podcast Féminin is supported by iwoca and Science in Sport.

page a T-C-P Femina and then I've put July in inverted commas at the top of the page.

Well let's speak, let's speak favorably. We wanted to wit until the first woman's

1:10.6

world to a race had restarted the season. So we thought we'd wit until Strada Bianca was done.

1:16.9

I was going to say done and dusted. Sorry, everyone uses that with Strada Bianca. Until it

1:21.4

was finished. So it was to bring the best possible episode of the podcast. That's why we've

1:26.5

delayed it and I'm sure the next high-ever many minutes will be well worth the wait.

1:31.4

Absolutely and the great news is that there's another episode of the Cycling Podcast Femina

1:36.7

coming next week. The oldest episode of the year is week. What a treat. What a treat.

1:42.4

We're like lunch boxes for the three of us. Well this is a bit like buses here because

1:48.3

we've been waiting all summer or four months or so for racing and suddenly there has been

1:54.0

quite a lot of racing. It got underway in Spain a good sort of 10 days or so before Strada Bianca

2:02.0

which was the world tour race of course and that was the big one at the weekend. All eyes were on

2:07.8

that. Ananimate Van Vluten so far 100% record this season incredibly. So we'll talk a lot about

2:15.3

how I'm sure in this episode but we'll hear from some of the other people who put in very strong

2:20.3

performances at Strada Bianca in particular and we're going to basically talk about Strada Bianca

2:25.6

in this episode aren't we? There's a few other bits and bulbs but do you have a news round up for us
