cold front coming in, which is welcome. There'll be rain. And speaking with my good colleague,

Jeremy Zackison, New South Wales, we're going through an El Nino early phase in New South Wales

and indeed the continent of Australia. I'm in a region.

Jeremy's in a continent.

However, he's in the southern hemisphere.

I'm in the northern hemisphere.

Springtime translates into fall.

He's had cold weather, but the snake invasion.

For the last few years, Jeremy and I have noticed that there are snakes everywhere that there didn't used to be.

I mean, hiding everywhere.

Also snakes awake when they're supposed to be asleep.

Now they're moving.

And where are they going, Jeremy?

Well, John, they are truly moving into the suburbs and into our coastline.

And you may remember only two weeks ago we were warned by conservationists and experts

that this could actually start happening and that there were noticeable migration patterns

in the snake population on the east coast that snakes were going to the coastline and

basically into the suburbs.

Well, John, it is true. We've had in the last two weeks, everywhere from Queensland all the way to

Victoria, up to 300 calls a week in some suburbs of snakes being found and needing to be

removed, which is unheard of because we are currently going into winter. This is currently
