I welcome my good colleague, Conrad Black, distinguished biographer, writing his column

of the National Post, but right now we attend to the

rift between Canada and the United States that must not stand, not for another moment, from my

point of view. And what I want to understand is, Mr. Carney, the very successful campaign he ran,

based upon the enmity towards remarks made by the Trump administration.

However, it is months later.

The springtime is here.

Canada's trade with the United States is vigorous and profound.

No substitute is irrationally possible, including China, given the trust and the commerce between

the two countries. And yet I read Canadians canceling their vacations in America, goods from

America, especially alcohol goods. All manner of imports are down. And I understand that the

Canadians are spiritually damaged by the

unkind remarks and the confusion about Greenland is profound and yet this is about something that

we've lived with our whole lives everybody alive in Canada and the United States has affection

for each other how How could we not?

Our parents, our grandparents.
