I'm John Bachelor.

Bill Rajio, Senior Fellow Foundation for Defense of Democracy, joins me. We're going to

Iraq. Ahmadine Sharawi of the FD has written up what is obvious once you hear it, but at the first

it did not have come to me, that the militias in Iraq, Iraqi citizens, Shia, generally speaking, but not exclusively, are participating in the Iran

war in some fashion. What I hadn't imagined was fundraising.

So let's just choose one out of all this list

and how they go about fundraising and what happens to the money. Asab al-Al-Al-Hak, faithful to the

promise. How do they do it? Good evening to you. Good evening, John. How do they do it? So when the war

started, actually, a few weeks into the war, we started seeing donation

campaigns and fundraisers to collect cash in order to support the Islamic Republic and Lebanon.

So I dug deeper into some of these militias and some of the interviews that they were conducting with the campaign managers, as well as some of the volunteers, to understand what kind of aid they were collecting, what the overall rhetoric is.

Because Iraq's economy is in, I mean, it's not doing so well because of this war.

And I saw a lot of the comments were saying, why are we donating money to Iran when our own economy is bad?

But this just shows you the clear link between some of these militias and Iran and that

they're ready to sacrifice their own money and their own efforts in order to sustain the Islamic

Republic. Now, I mean, I can't say for certain that these weapons are going for to develop

military systems and weapons and whatnot.

But I think the fact that there has been mass campaigns and fundraisers shows you the extent of Iran's influence in Iraq and how much a lot of these people are willing to sacrifice in order to

help out the regime in Iran.
