I think, and here I disagree with some of the consensus views.

There were a number of purges from the Central Military Commission that preceded the

removal of General Zhang and General Leo. Miao Hua and Huoadong were two people that

Xi Jinping had appointed, and it's important to note that they were from his Fujian clique.

Fujian is the province opposite Taiwan. And it's important to note that they were from his Fujian clique. Fugent is the province opposite Taiwan. And they were, I think, people that were pro an invasion of Taiwan or preparation

for an invasion. Zhang Yoshan, a number of other people within the PLA were much more cautious.

There was another general that was purged a number of years ago, Leo Yajou, who had opposed

Xi Jinping's plans for an invasion of Taiwan. And I think there is learned speculation that

Zhang Yosha was also in that caution camp.
