I'm John Batchel. I welcome Judy Dempsey, a senior scholar for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

based in Berlin, to guide us through how the EU and NATO, they're not coterminous, but they're

very similar in the large states. How the EU is dealing with right now, we know, a slowdown

in the energy supply chain, in the fertilizer supply chain.

Certainly, the high end as well, they're worried about the sulfur and the other

specialties out of the Middle East to maintain the manufacturing of high-end chips.

Is that broad a base of supply chain?

Following out Smith, you go where you're treated best, and all of these products are treated

best in the Gulf until the Strait of Hormuz came into war fighting.

This is a week past.

The pumps of diesel fuel necessary for the farm instruments, the plowing and the other

instruments on the farms.

This is an area dominated by National Rally, farming.

The small pumps in the little village nearby, the first week had one petrol, one gasoline.

The next two weeks just had gasoline.

And then the fourth week, nothing at all.

And so you needed to go to Albi, the large medieval town nearby.
