Conversation with Foundation for the Defense of Democracy is Bridget Toomey watching the Houthis,

who awakened several days ago and remain active in the region showing what they can do without overmudge firing into shipping.

Bridget assesses their ambitions and their trustworthiness.

I think they're sticking to the playbook they had when they entered this conflict where they're not taking any options off the table.

They, you know, say they could escalate.

They might do more if, you know, if Arab countries get more involved or, you know, say they could escalate. They might do more if, you know, if Arab countries get more involved or, you know, any range of, if a ceasefire isn't reached at some point, they say they'd like to see these things happen and they reserve the right to escalate how they see fit if things are not moving in a direction that they or the regime in Tehran are happy with.

But quite frankly, regardless of what the Houthis say, I wouldn't trust anything coming out of their mouth.

I think they're a threat to the Red Sea and they'll continue to be even if they said they wouldn't attack.
