I'm John Batchel. I welcome Jonathan Shanzer, the executive director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, a very large team covering this vast landscape of war fighting.

We begin in Lebanon, however, because first that there are major casualties for the IDF operating south of the Lutani River, rocket attacks by, we can presume, Hezboi elements,

refusing to leave the area or perhaps dug in to die in place unknown.

But these four IDF soldiers, all wonderful smiles, young men,

adding to another soldier lost in the explosion of a fuel depot,

we're looking at Catterty Ray climbing again for the IDF.

So what is the mission?

Where is this going?

We could understand during the Hamas war.

Hamas had to be driven out of Gaza Strip entirely and its effectiveness ended.

Hizbullah is a much larger and organized group that fight variously, both as guerrillas and as large units.

Jonathan, I come to you because I understood the watch on the Latani episodes for these last months in the sort of ceasefire and not ceasefire along the northern border.

But now it is not clear to me what the mission is. They're driving

toward the Latani. Do they mean to take it and hold it? Do they mean to clean it out? Where are they
