I'm John Batchel with my good colleague, Jeff Bliss,

is specific watch, and we turn to the politics of the

West Coast and the premier politician, Gavin Newsom, twice elected governor of California, once or twice

elected mayor of San Francisco, a man who's been on the book tour for some weeks now with

great success because, Jeff, we have a poll. London publishes

it because it wants the people of Europe who can read English to understand this is coming your way.

That of the prominent names in the Democratic Party who you could entertain for the nomination in 28,

of those prominent names, Gavin Newsom is not only number one, he's way out front,

with 28% of the respondents saying he's my choice.

Back at 14% is the former vice president of the country, Kamala Harris,

and then in single digits all the way down to senators from the East Coast.

But Gavin Newsom is so far ahead, Jeff.

And this is a consequence of his deliberate decision, smart decision, to put together a social

media team and go on that book tour.

I bought his book in the Kent bookstore last week, last Sunday,

because I thought, I've got to see what's going on here. It's a very well-done book.

He's already told us he can't read or write, so I'm not saying he wrote it, but it is very well-done,

and it presents the case of a man who's moving up.

And that is news to the East Coast.

You tell me that there are hesitations about Gavin Newsom in California,

but is California listening or paying attention to the fact that in the part of the country

that the Democrats must win, that's the Northeast,
