I'm John Batchel. I welcome my longtime colleague Craig Unger, the author of Distinguished Investigations

of the Powerful of Planet Earth, these many decades. One in particular, Epstein, once upon a time

powerful, is a centerpiece of a new substack filing for Greg at his substack page. This is a story about follow the money. Hollywood's advice,

follow the money. It's going to take us into rooms where we don't have clarity, but we have

suspicion. It's going to take us on airplanes that know everything, but we don't because we're outside.

But Craig's done a very helpful job of identifying the signposts along the way, even if we don't

have the whole picture we know about signposts to watch for and ask questions about.

We can presume that's what Congress wants to do,

ask more questions. It is striking that this is not a partisan issue anymore. Who Epstein was,

what he did, who he did it with, where the money goes, all of great interest of the U.S. Congress

I learned, reading the news. So, Craig,

welcome. We begin with some quick facts, chronology. In 1981, Jeffrey Epstein, starting as a lowly

floor trader for Bear Stearns, then a investment bank, in other words, it played the market. He is can from his job.

We don't know why, but it's not attractive. Soon afterwards, he spends 17 years wandering in a

wilderness, and he turns up as a citizen of the U.S. Virgin Islands at the end of the 20th century,

98, I believe.

At that point, he's on the road to riches.
