I'm John Batchel. I welcome Peter Berkowitz of the Hoover Institution, writing his column at Real Clear Politics,

looking at the phenomenon known as MAGA, also could be organized around the figure of Donald

Trump, the president. However, there is much more to it, and it has turns and twists that are

explicated in a new article I learned from Peter,

published at Tablet Magazine.

This is the Hudson Institute's senior fellow, Michael Duran, who's an historian and has written

expressively about the Middle Eastern history of the last 70 years, 80 years.

But here, Michael is taking on the current day politics of the Republican Party, such as

it's in power in Washington.

And we don't talk about the president here.

We talk about three men around the president who evidence the fragmenting of the coalition

that elected the president, called MAGA by the former president, Mr. Biden,

make America great again.

This is very much the people who talk to Donald Trump on a routine basis and yet have their own vision of the future.
