I'm John Batchel, and I welcome my good colleagues, Bill Rajo, Senior Fellow for the Foundation for

the Defense of Democracy, and his colleague, Ahmed Sharrari of the FD, both reporting at Long War

Journal and the FD site of the jihadists, who are ever active and persuasively dominating the story

in Syria. We go there because over these last weeks, there have been elements of Syria that are hard to explain,

given the outreach by Saudi Arabia, the United States, most of Europe, with money and promises

to reestablish or to establish a Syrian state that is friendly to the West, led by a man named Al-Shara.

But, Bill, I start with your report.

Most recently Friday, the White House is dealing with a violence that was directed, we have to believe, by the White House itself.

Al-Qaeda leader Bilal Hassan al-Jasim killed in an airstrike in Syria,

sent com directly linked Jassim to the December 13th, 2025 attack that killed two U.S. soldiers

and a civilian contractor in Syria.

Now, Bill, this looks like a different direction than we had before about the responsibility

of the death of those two Iowa National Guardsmen. What's happened, Bill? Good evening.

Good evening, John. Yeah, and like, as we said from the very beginning with the story, the administration has claimed, the U.S. military has claimed that this was an Islamic State attack.

And even though the Islamic State has yet to claim it more than a month after, keep in mind that if the Islamic State gave an American soldier a hangnail in Iraq or Syria or anywhere else, it would be on the front page of its propaganda.

But they've yet to claim this attack, and I don't expect them to. This attack was carried out

by a member of the Syrian security forces, which the Syrian military has

admitted to. This is the attack that killed the two American soldiers from the Iowa National Guard

and a civilian translator. So over the, on Friday, last Friday, the U.S. kills Jaseem, who's a

Al-Qaeda leader.

CENTCOM says that he has direct ties to an Islamic State terrorist responsible for the ambush.
