I'm John Batchel and I welcome my good colleagues, Judy Dempsey, of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

He's been Berlin and Thaddeus McCutter of American greatness.

We begin with a headline that is hard to make up, but there it is.

Dollar falls sharply in Wall Street stock set for losses over Greenland crisis. What? Subhead, U.S. President insists, quote, there can be no going back

on demand for Ireland. I see in other headlines that we're looking at the major powers in the

EU and NATO, both weighing in on this,

finding it unacceptable that the U.S. is moving on a part of the sovereign state of Denmark,

a member of NATO.

Greenland has been a colony of Denmark for two centuries or more.

There's a debate as to whether Denmark is adequate for the people of Greenland,

but there's no doubt that it's indicated on the map.

This is Danish territory and not loose to be grabbed by any power.

Judy, I note that Mr. Merritt, along with Mr. McCrone, Mr. Starrmer, have all voiced their opinion

that this is unacceptable conduct by the United States.
