| 0:14.7 | They're building not only these gigantic tech centers that eat up electricity. |
| 0:19.1 | They've got the electricity to be eaten up. Where? Well, they have fossil fuels, |
| 0:24.4 | yes, but they have wind. They have solar. Here, Bud explains. He's taught me this over the years. |
| 0:31.2 | You don't think of Texas as wind and solar. You think of it well. They just, you know, |
| 0:36.5 | they eat gasoline. Nope. Here's Bud, |
| 0:39.3 | much more of this about energy demands for the 21st century. Lots and lots of demand. |
| 0:47.2 | Well, part of the success story in Texas, although it's not widely known, you're correct, |
| 0:51.5 | and we have become number one in wind, and we're number one in solar. |
| 0:56.4 | Nobody is building wind farms in Texas now, but we see a lot of solar construction continuing, |
| 1:02.1 | even though the tax advantages, the federal tax credits are going away. The other thing we have in |
| 1:07.5 | Texas that helps us, in addition to lots of oil and gas, is lots of sunshine, |
| 1:13.4 | particularly in the western part of the state. And that's one of the reasons that we're seeing |
| 1:17.2 | so much investment in these server farms and the technology of solar and batteries to make sure |
| 1:25.8 | that power is available for these data centers. |
| 1:30.3 | So, yeah, we're in pretty good shape here in Texas, and I think we'll be able to meet future |
| 1:34.7 | demands. |
| 1:36.0 | But the fossil fuel business isn't going away, but it's taught me this over years. |
