I speak with the depths of winter and only 67 days till spring, but who's counting?

I begin, Judy, with questions that prey on all of us because of the news reporting of hundreds, hundreds now, dead in the turmoil in Iran.

The American approach to this is, as usual, a many-splendered discovery.

The Trump administration has made remarks about intervention in some fashion, but there's no clarity.

The Congress has opinions in all directions, and the American public is waiting for an

explanation from the president, who, after all, has campaigned and won his presidency on the basis

of we're not going to get involved in a nation building.

We're not going to spend time in the Middle East or overseas.

We're taking care of ourselves.

So, Judy, is there a way to characterize the European Union thinking about Iran right now,

given that it's through a glass darkly, the Internet is down, the phones are down,

there's very little reporting.
