This is John Batchel, a conversation with Jonathan Shanzer of the Foundation for the Defense of Democracy,

about the Iran tragedy, what we can see very little of the ongoing massacre of unarmed civilians.

And the puzzle is, why are we not seeing more or why are we not hearing more?

The excuse has been made that there's no video.

I've seen adequate video of the body bags on the floor and relatives looking for their loved ones.

And Jonathan asked the same question, where is the coverage of what could be at this point

something comparable to the fall of the Soviet Union. Here's Jonathan

to explain. More of this tonight. That's right. And really one gets a sense that this is almost

like a, you know, late 80s, early 90s collapse of the Soviet Union kind of moment. Given the

hegemony that Iran has enjoyed, the islamic republic has enjoyed across uh across the

middle east this would be a tectonic shift i mean one could maybe argue that the lack of coverage

stems from the lack of videos um and evidence um because iran has been jamming the regime has been

jamming starlink um and it's been jamming the internet.

So we have a relative dearth of images that are coming out of Iran right now.

But the images that have come through, to your point, when you see these body bags on the floor and you see families looking for their loved ones,

that should be enough for the media to take the hint that it's time to cover what could be one of the greatest moments of the 21st century.
