He is a Venezuelan writer and speaker to help everyone understand what we're witnessing from outside, well outside of the power in Caracas, well outside of the power in Washington.

But over these last days, there have been some determinations

that are very helpful to understand what fate for the Cuban people,

what fate for the Venezuelan people, what fate for the whole region.

I mentioned Cuba because right now, the fresh news, as of the weekend,

is that President Trump has ordered Venezuela no longer to ship oil to Cuba. That's been the

lifeline for Cuba these many years. So Venezuela is ordered not to ship it. I don't know the

results of this, but it suggests that there's an unusual

relationship between Washington and Caracas. Let us begin with Alejandro to explain to us the story so far.

And the questions come up as to how the people of Venezuela,

your friends, your family, your colleagues are faring in these difficult days. What is the

general opinion of the story so far? Are people encouraged? Are they discouraged? Do they have

Good evening and thank you very much for the invitation, John. Well, in Venezuela,

everyone is celebrating quietly because if they do it in the streets, the repression is still

very hard. Even after what happened the third of January when the

attack was taken place, still the repression forces are there. But people are relieved, happy,

and even grateful with the United States for the capture of Nicolas Maduro. We must remember that he led the country

to the most important humanitarian crisis that the Latin America has ever had in its whole history.
