This is John Batchel, reporting on the gunfire in Iran, thanks to Jonathan Saya of the Foundation for

Defense of Democracies. He is Tehran born. He's here in the U.S. now, of course, commenting on what

he knows about the fighting, the battle, the murder in these last days in Tehran and other cities.

We have estimates up to thousands of shot being turned away from hospitals, frightened to go to hospitals because they'll be arrested.

But the question is, who's shooting? Who's doing the shooting?

Jonathan reports, yes, IRGC, yes, the besieged, the militia under the IRGC, but also police forces.

It's a good question as to how extensive is this repression apparatus.

So you have the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the IRGC, designated as an FTO,

and operating under it is called the Basque.

So technically speaking, Bassege is part of the IRGC.

We're getting reports that not only are bessege on the street, and there's actually

RGC ground forces that used to fight in Syria against rebels, are now opening fire on

protesters.

Couple that with local law enforcement.

So literally everyone is on the street.

This is an existential threat to the regime, and I think they're putting

out everything they can. They're also preparing for a U.S. strike. Apparently, Khomeini has

ordered them to be prepared with their ballistic missiles to target them at Israelis and Americans

if they were to intervene. So you're really looking at a time that the Khomeini, the Supreme Leader thinks it's now or never,
