This is John Batchel, a conversation with my colleague Bob Zimmerman about SpaceX and the IPO,

the initial public offering, Wall Street. When? 2026 is the best we have. However, the ambition is

amazing. Bob lists the things they'll do with the money that Wall Street provides, and there will be provisions, big provisions.

The hottest IPO, I can imagine perhaps since Google, perhaps bigger than Google.

Pass the hat for Mars.

So we don't know exactly when, but the SpaceX's chief financial officer, Brett Johnson,

has confirmed that they are considering doing a public stock offering sometime in 26,

but they have not decided anything yet.

He stated the reason to do so would be to raise enough funds to, quote, ramps starship up to a insane flight rate, deploy AI data

centers in space, bill moon base alpha, and send uncrewed and crude missions to Mars.

This tells you what the American space program wants to do, because that's what

SpaceX is.

It ain't NASA.

It is SpaceX.

And so what they hope to do, if they do this IPO, is to not only launch starship

regularly like an airplane, but build a base on the moon and go to Mars at the same time

while building AI data centers in space.
