are that they swore allegiance to the Islamic State or ISIS just prior to conducting their

We've seen this in numerous attacks in Europe, in the United States, and throughout the

Sometimes they are in touch with

ISIS, usually propagandists or ideologues. Think of the Fort Hood shooter, Nadal Hassan,

going way back. I think that was 2009, if I recall. He was in touch with Anwar Lahuahaki for al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula's main ideological leader.
