And now we're told, thanks to the offices of Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia,

Syria is emerging as a possible success for the future, say the leaders.

And part of that success is a man named Al-Shara, who used to be al-Qaeda, self-admitted,

and has now become the self-named president of Syria.

So I'll say that the report is that a man who was employed as a security guard turned his weapon on a meal being eaten by two American military

personnel and others sympathetic to the American presence in Syria. That's all I'll say right now.

What do we know about the shooter? What do we know about the victims? Good evening to you.

First of all, as soon as the attack happened, this first set-com statement stated that the assailant or the terrorist was a member of the Islamic State.

But then the Syrian Ministry of Interior, through their spokesperson, made a very

ambiguous statement saying that the person or the perpetrator was not connected to any of the

leadership of the Ministry of Interior and that he may have had extremist views. So they didn't explicitly acknowledge that the shooter was a member of the security forces,

but they made the claim that he has no leadership role or any connection to the leadership.

And that was in response to a rumor that a man pictured next to Ahmed Ashahara in the celebrations

from last week was the perpetrator of the attack and he actually blew himself up.
