I'm John Batchel in New England where it's very chilly.

Not as chilly as it is an old mother Britain right now. But the chill here is because of the ice storms.

The chill in Britain is because two nothing. Brisbane doesn't do any better than Perth for the Poms. Jeremy, who are the

palms and what the heck? Is this their team? This is the best they can do? What's going on here?

They're supposed to hit the long ball and tear you up. What happened? Well, John, the Poms, the English,

the British, the whoever you want to call them, but the English cricket team who's here for the Ashes to basically come and devour our Australian team and win the Ashes back after whizzing it for two times in a row in the previous four years. Well, they are just not doing very well at all. And honestly, John, I think that's probably being a little bit kind in some ways. They're doing absolutely terribly right now.

And this is the interesting thing, John, that the Pommies,

that the team is actually really strong.

Separately, every single player when they played in their national sides,

in England and around the world, they do very well.

But bring them all together.

And oh my goodness, John, they can't catch a break. The Australian team is strong, but honestly, they are about as strong as the English. So I don't know why it's not a closer competition. But as he said, we are now 2 nil for the first two tests, the first one being in Perth, where it was basically over before it started. It was actually finished in

record time. Australia won that very, very quickly, basically bowling the British out very, very

fast. Then in Queensland, really not much better. Not only did the English effectively get

bowled out very quickly, the Australians almost hit several records by the number of runs. They
