I am in New England where it is a calm, easy, breezy, sunny morning,

and I go immediately to Sail Bay on the California coast,

north of San Diego, south of everything else in California.

And on remote is our man at Sail Bay, Big Cohoon, Jeff Bliss, his Pacific Watch.

He has assured me that he will survive this conversation with the tide coming in.

I am a California rookie, so I immediately look for great white sharks and forcas and other

beasts. Jeff tells me that we'll mostly just hear seagulls slapping around, wondering why we're

waking them up so early. Jeff, a very good day to you. We have you at Sail Bay. So give us a

glimpse of the landscape around you. What's north, what's south, what's, well, I know what's west.

That would be the Pacific Ocean. Good day to you jaff good day john

i'm standing at the water's edge here on the north end of sail bay and it's part of the mission bay here

in san diego and if you can see the lights over my shoulders that's that's toward the downtown

area uh and over my shoulder now is to the west.

And that's Pacific Beach.

And just on the other side of the lights there,

probably less than a half mile is where the actual breakers

are hitting the beach.

So it's, you know, this is a beach community.

Down at the far end, the lights there,

you'll hit places that are very tourist-oriented like SeaWorld.
