Formula One only raced in Korea four times, but its first visit there in 2010 played a huge

role in that year's dramatic championship fight.

The rain-delayed race on a circuit that was barely ready in time

ended up doing colossal damage to Mark Weber's best shot at a World Championship

while a disastrous day for Red Bull was completed

when Sebastian Vettel's own title hopes appeared to go up in smoke

with his Renault engine late on as darkness fell over the circuit.

As you've probably worked out by now,

it's time for our regular detour into F1's V8 era and to help us look back on this dramatic

first Korean Grand Prix. I'm joined by Ed Strawer and the first person to drive an F1 car on the

track before it was even finished, Karun Chanduck. Karin, welcome along.

I hope I haven't just taken away your answer to the opening question.

But when you think of the first Korean Grand Prix,

what's the first thing that comes to mind?

Awful hotels.

Where we were having to pay for the rooms by the hour.

So that underlines the sort of hotels we were in. Oh dear. Yeah, we had a few

people asking about that in the audience memories, but we won't get into that in too much detail.

Ed, you attended all four Korean GPs, I believe. What stands out for you about the first one?

Yeah, it was a great race, actually, once you got the hang of it. The first year was a little bit

of a culture shock for various reasons, one of which Karun alluded to. And Mokpo is in the south
