What I think Jesus is saying is many people can do certain signs, say certain things, do certain

miracles, and they could do it with the wrong motivation.

Remember what he said, be careful practicing your rights as in front of people to be seen by them,

because if you do, you'll have what?

No reward from your Father in heaven.

So what he's saying is these are a bunch of things you could do really good and the world will applaud you. You get approval of the world, but you won't get the approval of God.

And so I think that's what he's getting there when he says, many will say to me, I don't know.

And I think the point there is too what he says is, depart from me, I never knew you.
