This is a big takeaway from this.

I was reading this, I thought, here's the takeaway.

The birth narrative of Jesus is one of the strongest

evidences of the reliability of Scripture.

Okay?

For me, when you read stories or accounts like this,

it proves the Bible's true.

Here's what I mean.

If you and I were going to write or rewrite

or retell the story of a king,

you would embellish the story to have all these things that you would expect to come from the birth of a king, right?

You would have golden envelopes sent it to the high society of the day, right?

That's how you have it.

You'd have dignitaries and kings and queens and princes coming to this man's birth.

You'd have huge parades and golden trumpets by people throughout the land.

You'd wrap him in royal garments because he's not any king.

He's God's son.

He would be placed in an elaborate crib with gold and diamond.

But you have none of that.

In fact, none of that's recorded because God's showing us he came in humility. No better shelter than a stable. No cradle to

a lion, but a manger. And no protective guards, but animals. And once again, it shows us the character of God.

And by the way, this is why God hates pride.
