Well, this is Pints with Jack, season six,

episode 15, C.S. Lewis on Scripture, after hours with Dr. Michael J. Christensen. Well, welcome, everyone.

Here on Pints with Jack, we're reading our way through the works of C.S. Lewis.

And today we're talking with a prominent figure in the world of Lewis Studies who got his

start by publishing a book that he had worked on in graduate school, I believe, and is as far as I know,

the only real, full-on treatment of C.S. Lewis's view on scripture. The quotation we dropped

in comes from a fairly newly discovered letter, additional letter to Malcolm. And so we're going to be

talking about Lewis and scripture and his views.

They may get a little controversial, but I think there's space for all of us in the end.

And today I'm joined by Dr. Michael J. Christensen. He's a historical theologian in training

with an MA from Yale Divinity School, a PhD from Drew University, and a practical theologian

by choice and temperament, who taught

spirituality and the practice of ministry at Drew for more than 20 years.

I noted C.S. Lewis scholar and expert on the spiritual teachings of Henry Nowan, his books

include C.S. Lewis on Scripture, city streets, city people, the Samaritans imperative, equipping the saints,

partakers of the divine nature, the children of Chernobyl, and was a contributor to the C.S. Lewis

Study Bible, and has edited volumes on the heart of Henry Nowan's spiritual direction, spiritual

formation, and discernment by Henry Nowan.
