Welcome everyone, here on Pines with Jack, we're reading our way through the works of

of C.S. Lewis.

I'm Matt and I'm joined by my co-host, Andrew and David. This season, we find

ourselves among the stars reading through the first of Lewis's science fiction trilogy,

out of the silent planet. And listeners, I know I said this last time, which I led that

episode as well, but this one is filled with so much wisdom. Both of them,

I mean, if we would have had this all last week, you guys would not have been able to handle

the amount of stuff that Lewis was thrown at us. We wouldn't have been able to handle it.

And so I'm excited. We separated these two chapters. And even just that quote of the week,

a pleasure is full grown, only one is remembered.

I mean, don't you guys wanna know what that's like referring to?

And there's another one I almost chose.

There I drank life because death was in the pool.

And then Andrew, I'm not gonna read it,

but he had another quote that we could have done.

I mean, this chapter has a lot of good points.

And so anyways, we are going to dive into

this and we're actually going to, as we said, go to chapter 13. It's going to be a little unique.
