last week we left off in the middle bread of Detective James de Souche's trial testimony

so far we've covered the entirety of his direct examination and we're about halfway through his cross

Max questioning of de Souche thus far has revealed a very different picture of Harris County's investigation than what we heard in direct

the majority of his direct examination focused on Sandy's interrogation

our net's goal was very clear

de Souche was the vehicle that she used to convince the jury that Sandy was evading questions, changing her story and feigning her emotions

Detective de Souche was unequivocal in his responses

there was no forced entry, Sandy was not cooperating, etc.

but during cross he's been far less forceful in his responses

as Max draws attention to the failings of the quote objective and comprehensive investigation

de Souche doesn't deny them

rather he repeatedly shifts the blame onto the lead investigator, Sean Carrizol

so far to this point he's thrown Carrizol under the proverbial bus twice already

let's move on now and see what he has to say on day two of his testimony
