Summary

Elisa Morgan knows what it's like to mother through every season—from raising young kids to walking alongside adult children through different challenges. She spent years investing in mothers as the first president of MOPS International (now MomCo), but in this season of life she's discovering something sacred about aging: The purpose isn't to do moreit's to grow more like Christ. We talk about leaning into our limitations, praying for our kids, and asking what God is calling us to give birth to in each new season.

Welcome back to the Strong Women podcast. I'm so glad you're here. My guest today is Elisa Morgan.

0:06.6

Elisa was one of the original women who started Mops International. That's the moms of preschoolers.

0:16.7

International is like huge, but it started with a small group of women. And Elisa was one of those

0:22.2

women. And now she is one of the voices on the God hears her podcast put out by Daily Bread

0:28.8

Ministries. But Elisa and I have a really fun conversation about mothering and the different

0:35.4

seasons of life that we find ourselves, but what we really kind of

0:39.3

sit on for a while is aging. And it's a really encouraging conversation, for me at least. And one of the

0:49.1

things that we talk about is as we grow older, our ministry changes and our calling takes on different shapes and

0:59.9

forms. But we're not done until we're done. That's one thing that Elisa says several times

1:05.6

in our conversation. We're not done. God is not done with us, right? It made me think of my

1:10.6

conversation with my mentor,

1:12.8

Barbara, who really just was encouraging me that in her season of life right now, she's in her 80s,

1:19.7

that she realizes her limitations and that she's pivoted. And her ministry is just as rich as in the other decades of her life.

1:31.5

So I was very encouraged by this.

1:34.3

I needed to hear the words that Elisa shared with us today.

1:39.1

And I hope that you are also encouraged.

1:42.6

And that you think about your own space. Where are you right now?

1:46.5

What season of life are you in? I know for me personally, I've just kind of shifted seasons a little

1:53.2

bit because now half of my kids are in college and half are at home. I've got two away,

1:58.4

two at home. And it feels different. It feels like things are

2:01.4

changing. And I needed to hear this, this message of, as the seasons change, it means that

2:09.4

God is inviting us into something maybe different or new, more intentional. I don't know.
