Summary

In this final episode of the Strong Women Podcast, Maggie Hudson is back to help me reflect on this season and look ahead. We chat about slowing down to observe the season of Advent, what I've learned through this season's conversations, what it looks like to find and embrace God's calling in changing seasons, and more. I hope you'll take some time to listen to this reflective conversation and bookend to the Strong Women Podcast.

0:07.0

Maggie to come on because we are going to talk about all things just wrapping up this season

0:13.9

and looking forward. So anyway, Maggie's come on and she's going to lead us along in this conversation.

0:19.7

0:21.3

Girl, I'm doing so good. It's so good to see you. I'm excited to be here back with the Strong Women

0:26.4

Podcast community. It's just the best place to be. I think so too. Well, I am so excited to really

0:33.4

dive into one as this is the final episode of this season and so really reflecting on what this

0:40.0

season of the strong woman podcast has meant what this fall has looked like and really like curious

0:45.7

to know what you're learning what you've learned this fall and what the Lord's teaching you so I guess

0:50.6

we'll start there what what are you learning this fall okay Okay, I love this question. Isn't this a fun

0:55.5

question to just ask in any situation? Just like, what are you learning right now? Because

1:00.1

so many fun things come out of that question. But I'd say I'm learning a lot from this season

1:06.4

and all the conversations that we've been able to have, a couple themes really stand out to mean.

1:12.3

One is that the thing that we think takes us out of any meaningful work is so often the thing

1:22.3

that God calls us to invest in. And so what I mean by that is I think of right away Lisa Stephen. She runs the

1:30.6

organization Hope House, Colorado. And she had a teenage pregnancy. And those are the kind of things

1:37.2

that you think, oh, my life is over. I can't do anything meaningful. But that's the very thing that

1:42.3

God called her to speak into and give life to.

1:45.9

And now she's running Hope House, Colorado, which helps teenage moms.

1:50.9

And then I think of Jean-Marie Davis, who was sex trafficked, and now she works in helping

1:57.9

rescue girls, but also directs a pregnancy center. So those are the themes that kind of

2:03.3

stand out. Now, those are kind of extreme themes, but we all have those things in our lives where we're
