Previously on the X-Files, Elvie discovered La Petit messaging girls' inappropriate comments on social media,

and this then escalated to him accusing her of their sex life being a little bit lackluster.

She also began seeing a little more of his quiet rage, which would continue to be problematic throughout the

relationship. This train was moving full steam ahead, though, and after seven months of dating,

they moved in together. La Petit had everyone fooled, and they all loved him. But Elvie was

slowly becoming just a shell of herself as the kindness from LPD became less and less,

and the coldness and indifference and name-calling and contempt started taking over.

Sometimes the momentum of a relationship makes it hard to jump off a moving train.

So regardless of the red flags, Elvey moved forward, making excuses for La Petit's behavior along the way.

The abuse had started to escalate at that point, and he really, the interesting thing about

him was he never attacked

like how I looked or anything like that. It was more like my character and he would make me out

like completely slipped out of nowhere what I said to be selfish, manipulative. Like it was

completely bizarre and confusing. I just thought it didn't hurt what he said.

What hurt is that it was coming from somebody that supposedly loved me.
