Previously on the X-Files, Elvie got a rude awakening when La Petit's mother came for a visit.

Tensions were sky high and she got a taste of the quiet rage that LPD displayed behind closed doors.

In addition to everything going on and all the changes happening in their lives,

Elvie and La Petit also began the IVF journey to expand their family

and added two new dogs to the family.

The abuse escalated dramatically.

No supportive words, just rage and put downs.

And when Elvi suggested going to therapy, LPD flipped a switch and became a full-blown monster. I went to one of the sessions and the guy let me go

for two hours and I actually was able to cry and just comfortably cry.

And he asked me to describe different people in my life,

and he said, you know, when you describe this guy,

you're like searching for things that are good with him,

but then you describe other people and your whole face lights up.

I remember asking him, and he's just kind of getting

madder and matter and at one point he said what is his confidence coach telling you what is he

telling you right? And he said again with that crazy look he goes I have to talk to you this way

how much you have you going to learn how am I going to teach you you you're never going to learn if I don't talk to you this way and that was the second that I realized you have to talk to you this way. partner. The man Elvie was experiencing was not the same person she met in the beginning.

The quiet, calm, and thoughtful man was now a person filled with rage and contempt. She needed to escape, but how? If I can get him
