Last week on Truth and Justice, I broke down for you the entirety of the state's case

against Jason Baldwin.

As you heard, they really didn't have any case.

The primary focus that resonated with the jurors, according to the charts they made during

their deliberations, was simply the fact that Jason Baldwin was Damien Eccles' best friend.

Although the state did land three pudges.

One being the testimony of Michael Carson, who had served time with Jason in the detention

center, the second being the discovery of the so-called lake knife, and lastly, there

was the red fiber that was tied back to Jason Baldwin's home.

As you heard, what the jury did not have the advantage of hearing, was the fact that

more advanced testing of the fibers concluded that they were in fact not a match to anything

in Jason Baldwin's house.

The lake knife was never tied to the crime in any way, and later affidavits revealed that

most likely the West Memphis police knew that the lake knife had been thrown in the lake

over a year before the murders had occurred.

And lastly, the fact that Michael Carson, at this point, does not stand behind his testimony

that he gave in 1994.

And that is the entire story, according to the court records of Jason Baldwin's arrest,

trial, and conviction.

But as I said last week, there is much more to the story, and that story can only be told

by Jason Baldwin himself.
