Summary

In this episode, Bob interviews Jason Baldwin, who was one of the three teenagers convicted of the murders of Michael Moore, Christopher Byers and Stevie Branch. He spent nearly 20 years behind bars before being released after he, Damien Echols and Jessie Misskelley entered Alford pleas for their release from prison. In this interview, Jason explains his whereabouts on the day of the boy's murders, his perspective of his trial, how he says the "lake knife" ended up in the lake, and more.

Last week on Truth and Justice, I broke down for you the entirety of the state's case

0:51.7

against Jason Baldwin.

1:25.7

more advanced testing of the fibers concluded that they were in fact not a match to anything

1:30.4

in Jason Baldwin's house.

1:32.2

The lake knife was never tied to the crime in any way, and later affidavits revealed that

1:37.3

most likely the West Memphis police knew that the lake knife had been thrown in the lake

1:41.6

over a year before the murders had occurred.

1:44.1

And lastly, the fact that Michael Carson, at this point, does not stand behind his testimony

1:48.1

that he gave in 1994.

1:50.7

And that is the entire story, according to the court records of Jason Baldwin's arrest,

1:56.2

trial, and conviction.

1:58.3

But as I said last week, there is much more to the story, and that story can only be told

2:03.3

by Jason Baldwin himself.
